This weekend, Paul and I saw a great exhibit of textiles/embroideries at Harbourfront. A number made by Inuit women and women from India. They were AMAZING, gorgeous. This one is by Naomi Ityi, depicting the upheaval for the Inuit when they were forced out of their nomadic lives to reservations in the 60's. The ones from India were mostly these beautiful tree scenes with all kinds of leaves, birds and people. It is how they are supporting themselves, in a place where there isn't much work. wow.
Sweet Fancy Moses! Look who it is! SIMMY! Only trouble is, he is a bit too much in my armpit...back the the drawing board.
My first of 4 pottery classes last night was ok. I was dissapointed to learn we were only allowed to use RED CLAY!! Instead of running out the door crying, I figured I would just stay and make some stuff. I wanted to use white clay, so the glazes would be really bright. Oh well, I think it will still be nice to do.
