illustration friday - ambition
After I drew this little picture, I started to think about ambition and how it can be a lot like a cloud. You try and reach goals and they change and shift and ambition is never satisfied. It is a constant race around to try and prop your ladder against another cloud only to have it evaporate again. It's all part of my plan to remind myself to enjoy where I am now and to try and remember to keep doing that, despite the little ants of ambition nibbling at my feet all the time. The main thing whispering in my head a lot these days is: "Pick something and stick with it". I try and remember that on those days I think about quitting!

You should win an award for that sweet drawing and your beautiful statement. Ladder to a cloud...so TRUE!! Maybe its also good to have a few ladders up at once and get to the cloud that is the closest.

Hi Tania, this is my first visit. Love the illustration. Ambition is tricky isn't it? I so relate to you saying "Pick one thing"! I'm 41 and still don't know what I want to be when I grow up!
