This is really neat- have a look!
On My Desk shows the desks and working spaces of creative people- I love seeing how people work!
Here are the three designs for my newest Christmas cards. They come in packets of nine cards, 3 of each design included. You can now also get my last years design at a discount.
*update!* I forgot to tell the story! My childhood friend, (who I am still friends today with and she just had a baby! ♥) had a toy doggie and bear - that is what they were called, doggie and bear! She loved them to pieces, literally and slept with them every night. She loved to put their button noses up close to her face when she was going to sleep because they were cool feeling against her skin. I believe she still has them tucked up in her bed, all raggedy and well loved. I still have my blankie!
( don't tell ) These 3 cards made me think of her.
We had a nice birthday weekend although the cake I tried to make sort of didn't work. It was a mix! It tasted nice, but I forgot to grease the pans so they would not come out-
He is really easy to buy for because he tells me what presents he wants.
We had a very good day for Whitey sightings last weekend! Paul took a pile of great shots and surprise of surprises, there are TWO Whiteys. We love them both equally.
Guess what the mailman brought for me today!!!!! I am saving the first look through for a time when I will really sit and savour it.
Christmas cards are going to be ready any second. There was a bit of a snag with the printing but it is fixed now. I am getting them done by my good friend Swati who runs Pixel print. If you are in Toronto, give her a call. She does high quality work at really good prices- and fast!
I am brimming with exitement about having just booked myself into a sock knitting class on Dec 9 at Romni wools. I have been feeling so lackluster lately and this is something I have always wanted to learn. Yay! I think there are 2 spots left if anyone wants to do it too.
After going there, I went to get some healthy expensive cat food for the amazing barfing cats, and it turned out the girl there reads this here blog! (Hi M!) It was so neat to meet someone in person - the virtual world can sometimes feel so nebulous that it was a thrill to say hello face to face.
This is Paul's birthday weekend and many festivites are planned. Well nothing that fancy, but there will be a movie, brunch , dinner out , maybe some jazz at our local bar, cake and prezzies. Happy birthday sweetie pie!
With around 2 weeks to go till my first little crafty show, I am trying to go into the fast lane in the making department. I think I am in fairly good shape though because I am just taking it pretty easy this year doing only 3 dates. My envelopes are in at the store, my Xmas cards are at the printers and I am grabbing more cello bags today. Now if I could only wake up - the coffee didn't quite do it! I can't wait to show you my new Christmas cards. I will wait till I am sure I have them in my hands to put them up for sale. It took me ages and ages to come up with an idea for them and then, as it tends to go, one day I knew what to draw. I like them. That should be Thursday-ish.
I liked the idea of this topic, seen here. I often begin to start these things, like Mati's grateful Fridays, etc and usually drift off after a few tries. That's ok though, and for true loves, I am starting with an easy and obvious one! Tea and biscuits. That is my latest favorite cookie the Voortman Almond Krunch. It is perfect for tea time, krispy and sweet I love it. This was my tea break last friday afternoon on my day off. I am never in my studio working in the afternoon so this was nice but I was cold and tea was what I needed. I even lit a candle because I get lonely in afternoons at home and a candle makes me feel warmer and cozy. The tea pot is Paul's special one. He has a pot of rooibos vanilla in it every morning to put in his thermos for work. I had Chai tea ( from Krissy!) in it with milk and sugar and worried the taste would carry over into Paul's next pot of Vanilla, but it didn't of course. I washed it. Oh and those are sketches for my Xmas cards there at the side.

My first time trying intarsia ( I think that is what it is called) by using a CBC logo I uploaded to the knitpro part of Mirco revolt. It will generate a grid pattern for you! I am not sure what I will do with it in the end but I so love a knitting challenge, something to keep in the wings when I have that certain mood strike. The mood that requires a cup of tea at the kitchen table and some serious knitting. I really have to pay attention to do this and that means no TV, but radio is allowed.
Today I am working on this new tree print I came up with. My first attempt at two color printing, on some tote bags. I also think I finally have an idea for this years Xmas card. I'll keep you posted! It is my friday off, so I would like to pop over to the Value Village and see what up, but I will wait till Saturday because Paul wants to go too. I should really get a bit of a haircut too, I am starting to feel like Marsha Brady.
These book covers are so pretty.
I'm a proud sister! Have a look! dinnickandhowells.com

He did the whole anthlogy of greateset hits, including : cardinal, blue jay, seagull, sparrow, starling and even the old favorite - car alarm!!
