I love this time of year, it always feels like a new start. Even more exiting because I don't have to go to school!! So I felt inspired to make a skirt, based on my
easy A-line skirt. I am always hunting for the perfect jean skirt, and while this is not quite it, its is good enough for now. I am hoping the jean material, which I thrifted ages ago, will soften up as currently it is a bit like cardboard!
I felt ready to try freezer paper stencils and I made this one with inspiration from these trees-so
sorry they are blurry, sigh! So I made them small...
From one of my all time favorite books...
Also a bit blurry , but work with me here people. This book was in the library at college and I took it out a bunch of times. Imagine my glee when I found it later at a goodwill, which cooincidentally was near my current house, but has since been torn down. Woah, just looked on amazon and its going for 70 bucks!
And there is the beauty of a long weekend. Time to dream and putter.
Including time to be a tourist in your own city, with a little treat for lunch ( look! there is my new Shini
katoh bottle- love!)
and a visit to some old friends at the museum. The new ROM is pretty impressive, but the inside of the new crystal part seemed so dark when I expected lots of light. Perhaps it is to protect the articfacts- that must be it.

Love the skirt.. love the stencil.. love the book! All I need is love.. sweet love! I think I need to go lay down.. feeling freaky all of a sudden. Silly girl.
Love the look of the sandwich. My boy is home feeling poorly and he makes me eat whatever he feels like which today was unmentionable seven year old mush. Ugh! I think I might send him back to school tomorrow so I can have some adult food.
Great post. xox Nicole

Skirt = Awesome. It is so simple yet pretty.
I have a Shinzi bottle too, green and orange with a pear and an apple on it. I LOVE IT and take it everywhere. You will get a lot of use out of it! Did you get the thermal one? It's worth every penny, far as I'm concerned!

Everything in this post is beautiful. And reminds me of the first week of school and the first week of new things for school, which was sometimes the fun of it all! Great find on the book. Haven't been to the new ROM, but i should do that soon for sure!

You are a wizard! Love the skirt and stencil. Hats off to anyone who can sew in a line - I just took in my son's too long pj bottoms to be turned up and taken in at the waist, and I'm being charged $15. The 2 piece pj's only cost me $10! sigh - to be talented,
tj;)
