Today I made bread! It's very exiting! It is a recipe from a book called "Artisan bread in five minutes a day" by Jeff Hertzberg and Zoe Francois, the basic boule loaf. I haven't even tasted it yet but it looks lovely resting on the stove. This is my first bread baking experience and so far so good! The recipe makes a wad of dough you keep on the fridge and bake whenever you want. Love it!
I am blogging from the iPhone and the pics are NOT the best but it is convenient! My dear brother handed down to me his older canon rebel which I need to get used to because it takes marvellous pictures- Lucky me!
I also made homemade deodorant and lip balm! My friend Sally gave me the recipe for the deo, which is awesome and so simple. It totally works! I am on this homemade stuff kick lately and it's really fun. After finch gets off to bed, doing this stuff gives me a sense of accomplishment after a long day doing everything on a toddlers timeline.

You made bread!! It looks so yummy! You've got me beat...any recipe that requires dough to rise is completely intimidating to me.
Also: your coffee maker!!! How's it working out for you?

I'm glad that you are liking the deodorant! I don't think I could use anything else anymore.
I checked out the Artisan Bread book from the library a while ago, but I never made anything from it :( I do love making homemade bread, though.

I'm using a Soapwalla deodorant cream that works well, but I'm curious to know how you made yours.
Cute boule! Have you tried Jim Lahey's NYT recipe for no knead bread? I haven't baked bread since a roommate threw away my sourdough started in 2011. At some point, I will get my coworker's sourdough starter; he makes amazing bread using the Tartine bread book.
