I have rediscovered The Commons on Flickr. How wonderful to browse all these archives! This one is from the Huron County Archives which is technically just up the road a bit from here. This is such a lovely shot, I remember doing this with Finch when he was a baby and I do it myself every chance I can get. I have noticed on instagram, spring blossoms elsewhere are blooming, but it is of course -16C here today and the trees are locked up tight for at least two more months.
I do just love pattern, that's no secret. I have also been loving Finch's drawings lately. He is so into it, ever since he started JK. He just draws all the time. I thought it might make cool fabric patterns of course. So I have been noodling around with them today. Its nice to have some noodling time! I have handed in work and am in that nice in between time when they go over the work and get back to me later.
He loves every and all vehicles, these are SWAT trucks and emergency trucks.
This was a wheel scrapyard, and ofcourse all I saw was a polka dot dress...
I love the rainbow cab on this transport truck!! Loveit.
This school bus escaped colouring for some reason, but what I love are the numerous windows. Its great watching him draw and grow in ability. I have always loved kids art, so its neat to have it going on in right front of me.
Check this out! I just figured out how to link over to spotify! Since I am home working in front of the computer, I am actually getting to LISTEN to music again! Its glorious- I am going a bit bananas over this album right now. It is AMAZING.
I am also really liking this album, which I didn't expect to for some reason. It is really great too. I just love "We Go Home", but the video made me cry at the end. Watch it on youtube if you want, I was disappointed!
This band was my favorite in the fall. Really fantastic!! "Nerve" is killer.
Oh my goodness! February and I am popping in to say Happy new year! Its been busy with many revisions on my Shapes book to get it ready for printing and as well working on sketches for the third Willow book! I am having a moment this afternoon wondering what to do now and I think its cuppa tea time. That's always been my motto- When in doubt, make tea. I have a bit of time before schools out for the day at 3:15.
I have been devouring books by Barbara O'neal. They are full of baking and people who seem so nice, I have loved every single one. Do look her up in the library!
I was entertaining myself with instagram, but suddenly my new/used phone is acting funny.
We have been digging out from a huge snow yesterday. Oh and I made this scarf last week during my marathon revisions- I needed a bit of comforting sewing!
Its a bunch of my favorite scraps sewn together into a loop scarf.
I have made it a few times and it was just fantastic. Oh yes, the cat! We adopted a cat over the holidays from Toronto Cat rescue.
He is a lovely little guy! He has made himself right at home and was rescued from a feral life on the streets- amazing. His foster mum named him Skywalker, so that's his name! Well I guess I did have a few things to say after all.
