bike snob

Well, my lovely bike home in the last entry, turned into a lovely flat tire and 45 minutes in the bike shop getting it fixed. The cherry on top was a lecture about what bad shape my bike was in and the "basic maintenance" that obviously wasn't on the "top of my list of prioities". sigh. It's not like I am abusing a kitten. I just wanted to eat eggs. For goodness sake, it's just a bicycle. Oh no wait, not JUST a bicycle, its actually a ticking time bomb waiting to kill me - at least according to the guy.

I have web surfing brain mush. I love links that lead to more links, but boy does it tire me out. If it wasn't for my great job, I wouldn't see half of this stuff because my connection at home is too slow. In a minute I will go home and make some eggs for dinner. I have a phone date with my girl Lia in Washington, and a lovely bike ride home. Things are good because it'd my time of the year! My birthday is coming up and that means lots of things! Mostly, YAY for me. It's an nice excuse to take it easy and go with the flow.

Here's that competition entry I was talking about, with the mailbox. It's a bit different altogether!
Today I made a link on my main site to here. OOH! I was shy to do that at first, but what the heck!

Here is a sneak peek at my scrapbook pages. / I am addicted to them and randomly sticking stuff in without the pressures of having to make it look good. So much stuff out there! Somedays I feel headachey with the nonstop visual stimulation, but I wouldn't last 5 seconds in an all white room with nothing to look at.

gettin' stuff

I am at my other job. It is a kids art school and I am the technician. Sounds fancy! but really I mostly get stuff. Today I got the digital camera for one teacher and downloaded and printed a bunch of portraits to later be painted by the kids. Then I took the above picture of some sketch a kid did a few weeks ago.
Then I got some papers, then some paper towels, and then I got some rolling pins to use with the clay.
It seems to be a rainy day, I think I will go out and investigate!

OH BOY!

I'm trying to alter one of those instant photogallery templates in photoshop for my scrapbook gallery and boy is it fussy. Many layers of html! Sheesh, maybe later.

In other news, I was perhaps too exited to find this site of fruit stickers while munching on a banana during my tea break. I have discovered yet another secret world! A world where people collect and trade these stickers. How strange, but who could blame them? The stickers are so neat and there are millions!
I was especially happy to see my old pal Snoboy. Besides the GO-JIT truck, the Snoboy truck is my other favorite highway sight.

One of those days! Though it is absolutley gorgeous outside, I can't seem to wake up or pull my mind out of the cardboard dullness that has taken me over... hmmm. Maybe getting outside at 6 oclock will be the trick.
coming soon! a gallery of my scrapbook pages. Its a random, not thought-out book where I glue any things I find that inspire me creatively. I spent all Monday aft. (holiday!!) scanning, so I better get to it.

I know a bookworm isn't very Easter-y, but what the hey! I'm off for a weekend away and I feel cheerful. It is a beautiful day.
I must say, it is so lovely to get all these comments from like minded ladies! What a great way to share stuff and see what each other do. THANK-YOU!!! Thanks for noticing.

My title was a spelling mistake, but I realise it is likely what I will do most of the weekend. I am looking forward to some lazing about and a lot of chocolate.

Today I am sketching out some ideas for a competition Marlena told me about. The theme is city scapes, and the mailbox may or may not be a part of the final. When I work on my computer at home, one of my cats, the Boy, INSISTS on being on top of it all, on the mouse pad, my lap, the scanner, anywhere that is in my way. It must be a cat instinct - "Obstruct your human's attempts at productivity at all costs! Cuddle!"

birds are coming back!

Its a favorite spring thing, walking through the streets in my neighborhood and listening to the birds! Especially my best friend, the cardinal.

Wish I could go!

Wow, I just saw in the paper that Anna Torma is having a show in Nova Scotia. I can't find any good pictures that do her justice, but her work is AMAZING. I saw a show here years ago. She does great big embroideries, of images, words overlapping, shapes, animals. I remember it looking like parts of children's drawings in lovely shades, like cave pictures, like doodles by the phone- all hand sewn. I was blown away!
