Just in case your barbies were cold...

This is from 1963 and all outfits are styled by Hilde! I wonder where Hilde is today, or if she is still alive.
It would be neat to have had a profitable career creating doll clothes knitting books in the 60's... I wonder if she did it part time while looking after kids or if she had an office full of wool...
That would be a good job. about 10 years ago my husband bought a box full of barbies and japanese (ideal toy corp.) barbies from the 60's and tons and tons of homemade clothes. I recognize some of the knitted things from your pics. the dolls have been in a suitcase ever since and my daughter and I just discoved them in a remodel. She was thrilled and hand washed every piece of clothing.

Those are so cute! I love finding things like that, I especially like the last one with the little deer in it. :)

My Mom made me those Barbie knits in '63 too. Barbie was on the best dressed list. I hated dolls and didn't care.
