I grew up in a small town that had a train. I now live a bigger town (OKC, OK) and can hear a train still. I love it! I reminds me of home.

I loved living in Toronto -- somehow it always seemed really cozy and small, even though it's large. Maybe it's because the houses are close together -- I like that. I do love the CN Tower too -- no matter where you are in the city you can pretty much see it, so you always know what direction you're going. It's like a becon that keeps you from getting lost.

Your post brought back memories of living next to the commuter rail line in college and wishing that I could be going downtown Chicago like those people were, or really traveling anywhere exciting outside of my walking radius.

The CN tower will always feel like a little bit of home to me and I look up at it constantly when I'm "home". When I visit Toronto I also feel calm and still, its part of my childhood and part of who I am. I think its community that gives us stillness, it makes us content. And we all know that Toronto is full of awesome communities! Give the place a hug from me!

It is nice to read a fellow Torontonian's blog! Your projects and photos are inspiring me! Keep up the good work!

Oh what a lovely post. Your talk about CN tower brings back memories for me. I was born in Ontario and took lots of trips to the CN Tower. I remember being terrified but once we got up thought it was so cool.

ahhh stillness....I multi-task way too much
