There is a lovely chill in the air and it is really putting a skip in my step. It is making me FINALLY finally feel crafty again. I love this time of year with brilliant sunny days shining through golden leaves, wearing scarves and socks. I am all exited to rummage in the basement and find my bag of hats and mitts, and the box of winter things. Paul and I got whomped with the inaugeral cold of the season and though he has been home sick all week, I have been able to limp through my normal schedule, if not a bit dopily. So, I treated myself to the latest issuse of Knit simple because there is a great mitten section - see pics above. It is a nice chart for mitts of all sizes. I love the idea of a basic adaptable mitten pattern using a basic yarn, not some crazy expensive one I am too mean to buy.
I also finally feel rather exited about crafty happenings. Jen over at TCA has done a great job as usual, of rounding up all the cool stuff to do. I am exited about this because it is near my house. I would love a neat crafty place to hang out so close to home! Maybe it will be like the secret club I started in my basement as a kid...Maybe I will actually go OUT for a change...
I totally have to check this out!! It looks beyond exiting...
So I hope you all have a lovely weekend and get down to some creative crafty business. I hope I do too- :)
so funny, the 2 t.c.a. items you posted are the exact same two things that i've been excited about as well. and i totally agree, jen is doing such an incredible job with that blog. i don't know how she finds this stuff!? :)

Hope the creative weekend is going well! I'm curious what your secret kid club in the basement was all about...

Hi Tania
We missed you at our fall craft fair in London. There was one woman there who made these amazing birds in wire trees. It was put on by the craft council.
We miss you.

You may enjoy the Mission Falls
pattern books, I just love Mags Kandis's designs. She has a 16 page leaflet called Smitten with the cutest mittens. You can order the pattern leaflet and the yarns from Camilla Valley Farm (Canadian). This link takes you to the Smitten page just click the pictures to see the details. http://www.camillavalleyfarm.com/mission/take5.htm#smitten
Also, check out the other Mission Falls patterns.
