I finished my socks just in time for a cool turn in the weather.  It feels like fall all of a sudden and it's nice to wear some socks again.  I get tired of feeling every grain of sand I track into the house.  No matter how much I sweep, there is always more!  And to be honest , I don't sweep too often-;)
This was a lovely pattern for socks because it was for worsted weight yarn which went oh so much faster then sock weight.  It is this pattern for beginners socks #9728- very nice.

Look at the perfection that was Sunday afternoon at Cherry beach!

We went out to have a picnic with Krissy and Paul.  What ended up happening was a lovely lunch at their house with a thunderstorm raging outside, and  then a walk later at the beach, as if the storm never even happened!  Thanks guys, we had such a nice time.

Yippee!  Wonderfully, our book is in this top ten on the Chapters/indigo website!!  I can't stop using exclamation points !!! and I am sorry for that!!!

It has been a long time since I posted any links so check out this amazing amazing embroidery!  I discovered this artist while flipping through british Elle Decor recently.  Have a look at the entire embroidery page.  I am so impressed with the overlapping colors and tidy stitches, not to mention the amazing imagery.  When I found the site, I was pleasantly surprised to see a show coming up right down the street from me!  What are the chances?  It has not even happened yet, so you can bet I will be over there checking all the work out.  I really love the collages  and , well, all of it.  It's all beautiful-

exitement!

When my books arrived, I was so exited that I said to the UPS guy "OH! it must be my books!" and he replied, as if from Mr. Rogers neighbourhood, "It sure is!"
I thanked him and sent him on his way and tore into the box.  How exiting to have a pile of these to stare at- it's really a book!  Very surreal.
If any of you crazy kids are on facebook like me, I started a Berkeley group to keep you up to date on the happenings, including a shocking development- I have been asked to appear and present our book and sign copies at the Word on the Street! Madness!  The facebook group is called Berkeley's Barn Owl Dance Party and y'all are invited!

This Sunday is the Kid's Trunk show!  I hope some of you will be able to pop by and visit us.
I have been working on some various things for it and I will also have my coloring books for sale again in a special re-print.  I will also have  one of the very first copies of Berkeley's Barn Owl Dance there to show off.  There will be a handful of wonderful artists selling lovely things, plus another awesome craft sale happening down the street.  Fun!


Here is girl cat with a tooth I made.  It has a pocket on the back for the tooth fairy to collect her tooth  and to leave her reward in!

well, hello!

Hidey- ho, I have been on my holidays!  My mum was here from Mexico and I took a week off to hang around and enjoy her visit.
First things first though- I must show you what your kind donations from back here were all about.

Meet Kit and Rosie, the rescued kittens.  I have been feeding them for my neighbor and they are terribly cute.  Still too young to be fixed, but thanks to you , we have the moola to do the job.  Both are girl cats, so I feel extra grateful for my neighbor rescuing them.  They surely would have had kittens themselves soon if she had not done so.  If you want one, they are going up for adoption soon!
But back to my holidays-


Here we are being intrepid explorers aboard the Toronto ferry to the islands, or rather coming back from the islands.  What a nice day, what a gorgoeus place.  That's Paul and my mum.



There was copiuos amounts of knitting , having coffee ( decaf!), reading on the porch and eating.
A perfect holiday.  Those are some socks I am knitting.
