I started this little thing here back in the spring - the Saint Clarens General Store.
I have little tutorials for how to make things I have been making this past year or so, and eventually, an etsy shop to buy stuff if you don't want to make it yourself! I have been so stoked by the revelation that I can make so many things myself, it really did come to me as a bolt of lightening and a surprise. I always have liked to feel a bit self sufficient, and frankly it made me feel clever. The four years of intense childcare could sometimes make me feel a bit dumb! ( mummy brain) Plus, saving money has been key, with me not being at a paying job. I also like the idea of knowing what is in my body products, both for me and for my kid.
A mum I know recently suggested I make a few things to sell for Christmas, at the shop where she works, and that reignited my interest in this side project. I am passing along some samples to her soon : Lemon bath salts, Coconut lime sugar scrub, Sweet citrus lip balm and the Sweet orange lotion bars mentioned in the most recent post. Yes they are as delicious as they sound! And so easy! I do favour citrus a tad...yum!
And if you try any of the (only 3!) tutorials, I recommend the deodorant. It rocks! You will never buy deodorant again.
What a great new site! You can make a whole line of natural body products and design cute packaging.
