My friend Chandi Fernando is a child psychologist! She has a website and over the years has hired me to do a few illustrations as promotion. It was so fun to do this latest one because I was encouraged to go with my default settings! Bright colours and bright patterns! She wanted something simple and cute and childlike, to remind clients she was available and that winter is OVER! ( sort of over, it's freezing today!) I really liked the way it turned out.

ideas
These are some ideas I sketched before I started the below painting. I am sort of new to painting, or perhaps, just revisiting it again. It is really restful to draw the image and then fill in the colours, without a client in mind. I just do it to have something nice to look at. I am trying to think of what to paint next. It is march break here and I have a babysitter for two hours in order to meet a deadline. I am done - some revisions to sketches for the third Willow! - so I am having a minute to play and pop in and say hello!
